Dear Sam,I just got a HVC-4000p and I'm about to follow your paths to get it working. I'd like to know a little bit more on how you power it ? What type of battery do you connect the tamiya connector to ? How long does it last ? Thanks a whole lot.Pablo
Hi Pablo, Thanks for the comment.Any regulated 12V DC supply will work. I connected a small 12v sealed lead acid battery to the Tamiya connector. You don't have to use this connector you could use a screw terminal block. I'm not sure how long a battery would last, but a rough estimation could be done using the cameras current draw and battery capacity. Be careful when powering the camera to keep the video and audio signal wires away from the power (red and black) wires terminals.Regards-Sam
Dear Sam, thanks again for your help. Tamiya connector looks like a great option. I read the camera draw 7.7W/12v so that means that I need to look for a 1.6A/12v battery right ? Any more info you could give me on the one you use ? Did you attach it to the camera ? Cheers from France
Hi,Yes 1.6ah 12v would be fine, probably only run about an hour though. I used a 7ah 12v since that's the only one I had spare.Regards
I didn't know you could do that, i.e. have a higher amperage and still have it working. I'll try that.
Yes the "ah" or amp hours is the battery capacity not the output current.Regards
